Urban Education Service & Mission Trips

Combining the Urban Education day with service truly puts education into action.  Groups seeking one-day experiences can add service time in DenUM's food and clothing banks to their Urban Education Days.

Other groups choose to commit to several-day experiences. DenUM coordinates multi-day work at over 20 local non-profit agencies, from serving meals to doing much needed warehouse work. Participants will be drawn out of their comfort zone and allowed to look at an unfamiliar world. 

Work days last from approximately 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., depending on the site. At least one evening will be spent with an Urban Education speaker.  Other opportunities may be scheduled as they are available.  For a detailed sample day click here.  

The cost for an overnight experience is $20 per day per participant.  This covers scheduling of service, education opportunities, and lodging.  It does not cover the cost of recreational opportunities, transportation (no charter buses, please) or food (housing sites have kitchen facilities).
