Planned Giving
Create a will, consider a gift, leave a legacy!
We have the responsibility to be stewards of our gifts while they are in our possession. We also have the responsibility to develop a wise plan for the distribution of these gifts when we are finished with them.
One of the primary tools to provide for this distribution is what we know as a will.
It is through an up-to-date will that we can make sure that our loved ones are wisely protected and cared for.
In addition, many of us also have a love for our communities and charitable organizations. These, too, can be included in our plans for gift distribution.
Unfortunately, only 30% of Americans die with a will and only 6% include charitable bequests in their will. Without a will, we are simply allowing the government to handle the distribution of our belongings -- without regard to those for whom we care most.
Draw up a will with an attorney and include Denver Urban Ministries.
Be sure to include DenUM's full name and federal tax identification number, to make sure the proper charity receives your gift. If you'd like, you can specify that your gift goes to DenUM's endowment.
A gift to charity does not have to be large to make a difference!
