Urban Education Manager

Job Description

 

Summary:      In accordance with the general policies and mission established by the DenUM Board of Directors, the Urban Education Manager is responsible for the Urban Education Program.  The Urban Education Manager reports to the Community Relations Director.

 

Responsibilities:

Promote the week and day long programs both locally and nationally individuals, groups and churches.

Facilitate education activities in small and large group settings.

Coordinate and facilitate on-site volunteer opportunities.

Establish and maintain communication with host churches and service sites.

Plan housing, service projects, speakers, and education for groups.

Update website and program materials.

Design, order, advertise and sell promotional items.

Coordinate Food for All Thanksgiving Food Drive through recruiting participating youth groups and volunteers.  Manage logistics from planning to delivery.

Create knowledge base of community needs, advocacy issues and data.

Report monthly on the statistics and accomplishments of the program.

Maintain financial records, including: deposits, invoices and sales.

Attend all required meetings and special events.

Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications: Degree in social sciences, education, communications or related field, plus experience required.  Available two weekends each month and some evenings.  Must be able to work with diverse populations in a busy environment.  Must have strong interpersonal, problem solving, public speaking, organizational, and oral/written communication skills.  Ability to address and discuss faith in ecumenical and faith-based settings.  Ability to work independently and within a team environment both required. Good computer skills required.

Full-time position, salary in the low 30s plus medical, retirment and vacation benefits.
